My, my, how most of us complained about the wearing of the face mask, because it restricted our breathing and frankly was most uncomfortable.
The mask also very effectively led us into the belief that we were in ‘disguise’ and could avoid identification by people who actually knew us, just because only half of our faces were open to scrutiny.
The other pain in the proverbial butt was the sterilising of hands by access control staff at large department stores.
On occasions the over zealous staff’s application of the muti was sparse and one wondered if it was worth the effort to get sprayed.
However, in other instances the eager staff member sprayed enough liquid on the hands that it felt as if you had had a hurried shower and dressed before drying one’s hands.
Yes. It is an impossible task keeping everybody happy – however – today – we went to the shop and I felt ‘unclean’ and wondered if I needed a bell to toll and have a placard around my neck saying ‘unclean’, as there was no hand cleanser in sight. Horror of horrors.
I felt most odd as I ventured into the shopping emporium and wondered if others felt the same?
I would venture to say that, in retrospect, the hand disinfecting exercise served a jolly good purpose as it protected us of more hygienic persuasions from those among us, who perhaps scratch their bums (and other nether regions) in public places.
Maybe shops should consider the reintroduction of this service, as perhaps it would draw more customers to that particular shop? I surely would support them.
