OPINION: Wet festive season for Scottburgh

There was a lot of rain last December compared to the previous two years.

Readers will no doubt agree that we had a wet festive season in Scottburgh. While more rain has been recorded this last December than in the past two years, more rain in fact fell in 2019.

The rainfall for December 2022 is as follows: 3rd – 1mm; 5th – 11,5mm; 8th – 17mm; 11th – 80mm (16 hours continuous rain); 12th – 21mm; 18th – 12,5mm; 20th – 45mm; 21st – 1,5mm; 25th – 35mm; 26th – 1mm; 29th – 26mm.

Total rainfall for December: 251,5mm.

Year by year comparison: December 2021 – 173mm; 2020 – 88mm; 2019 – 275mm; 2018 – 136mm; 2017 – 155mm.
