Verstappen lights up Las Vegas

It was win number 18 for the world champion.

In a race of mixed fortunes and lots of excitement, Max Verstappen again did the job best to win the Las Vegas Grand Prix, in the city of the lights.

The race started just two hours before midnight, local time and the lights shone brightly for the entire race.
Verstappen, who started from second on the grid, had a go straight away at the first corner to pass Charles Leclerc, in his Ferrari.

The move was adjudged unfair and Verstappen had to serve a five second penalty.

After taking the penalty at his first fuel stop, he moved back 10 places, but preceded to hound everyone, until he was leader once again.

Leclerc gave us an exciting finish when he took second place away from Sergio Perez on the last lap.
Ferrari are definitely on the comeback trail and teammate Carlos Sainz was a bit unlucky to finish in sixth place at the end.

Esteban Ocon drove a very good race in the Alpine Renault to take fourth spot, while Lance Stroll, in the Aston Martin, had a great race into fifth position.

His teammate Fernando Alonso was unlucky to only finish ninth in the sister car.

In between were Lewis Hamilton in his Mercedes, only seventh, just ahead of his teammate George Russell, who was as high as third position earlier in the race.

Oscar Piastri, in the only surviving McLaren, brought up the final point scoring position in 10th , while teammate Lando Norris, after breaking away suddenly when he hit one of the bad bumps in the track.

It was not a good weekend for the Woking team who are showing so much promise lately.
This past weekend the circus moved to Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi for everyone’s final fling.
