Business training for youth

A presentation on how shrinkage influences the net profit of the business was held at the Gamalakhe campus recently.

Shrinkages through customer and employee theft can damage the bottom line.

That’s what finance, economics and accounting level three students from Esayidi TVET College, Gamalakhe Campus, learnt about recently.

Students had to conduct their practical tasks in wholesale and retail subjects as it’s a national examination entrance requirement for the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).

They got to hear about it first-hand from people who work in the industry.

Veerad Ramsarup (operations manager) and Charishma Pillay (administration manager) availed themselves from their busy schedules on behalf of Multi Wood Furniture Group, to conduct a presentation based on how shrinkage influences the net profit of the business.

Suven Moodley, head of division (business studies), expressed his heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Multi Wood Furniture Group for taking part in this critical academic activity for their students and being actively involved in the up-skilling and uplifting the youth.
