Cynthia Nene has been behind a series of fundraising initiatives as a Mrs Bold hopeful.

Port Edward resident Cynthia Nene was crowned Mrs Bold South Africa 2024 in Johannesburg last weekend.

Along with the Mrs Bold crown, the 42-year-old, who is the Wild Coast Sun’s marketing manager, also bagged R100 000.

Nene entered the pageant earlier this year and has been behind a series of fundraising initiatives as a Mrs Bold hopeful.

Speaking on the crowning, Nene said: “What an unforgettable journey. Thanks to the endless support, love, and belief from so many incredible people, this dream has come to life. From my family, friends, and mentors to everyone who cheered me on, thank you for inspiring me to reach higher and walk proudly with purpose,” she said.

The mother of three said the title was more than a crown to her. She described it as a commitment to empower, uplift, and to give back.

Nene said she was beyond excited for the new chapter.

“I am excited to share it with all of you as we celebrate courage, resilience, and unity. Here’s to a bold, beautiful journey ahead,” she said.

In a statement, the organisers of Mrs Bold South Africa said Nene’s unique blend of wisdom, kindness, and true strength made her shine from the beginning of the journey.

“We wish you an incredible year ahead as you step into this role, impact lives, and continue to make a difference. May your reign be filled with purpose, joy, and unforgettable moments,” read the statement.
