Umzumbe youth showcase talent

The winner walked away with R3 000.

The recently staged Umzumbe talent showcase proved that an abundance of talent can be found in this rural area, according to its organisers.

The show itself, themed NFP Youth Talent Showcase, was held at Mvuthuluka High at KwaNdelu Village. It was hosted by the National Freedom Party (NFP) as its campaign strategy towards the much-anticipated Umzumbe Municipality’s Ward 13 by-election which was held recently.

AmaSMS took the runner-up position and is R200 richer.

An NFP member who was part of the organising team, Lungelo Khawula, said there were lot of activities on the day and that talent is alive in the area.

Ubuhle Besintu placed third.

“We had traditional Zulu dance, Maskandi, Ingoma, ummasho (umshado) and poetry. Seventeen groups competed and the winner walked away with R3 000.”

“We saw what we aimed to see in terms of talent. Our councillor candidate who is familiar with art will assist them going forward,” said Khawula.
