Vehicle passenger caught with illegal gun in Msinsini
The 36-year-old man was arrested and will appear shortly in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court.

A routine crime prevention stop led to the arrest of a 36-year-old man after police discovered firearms and ammunition in a vehicle near Msinsini, Umzumbe.
Members of Saps Public Order Policing in Port Shepstone together with Saps Msinsini were conducting crime prevention duties at Sipofu Road near the KwaNini bus stop when they stopped and searched a white Toyota Corolla last Sunday.
Police searched the four occupants of the vehicle and found that a man seated in the back seat was in possession of two firearms, one of which was not licensed. Officers recovered a black 9mm pistol and three live rounds of ammunition.
The man (36) was arrested and will appear shortly in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of unlicensed ammunition.
