‘Green and golf’ for Joost at Port Shepstone Country Club
Golfers paid tribute to the Springbok legend.
GREEN and gold (and golf) dominated at Port Shepstone Country Club last Friday, as golfers came dressed in memory of former Springbok scrumhalf Joost van der Westhuizen who died recently.
A total of 113 golfers teed it up in the business day, once again sponsored by The People’s Choice.
There were numerous visitors from other clubs, and most wore green and gold in memory of the fallen Bok hero, who succumbed to motor neuron disease.
Winners were Eddie Ringo, Stewart Harrison, Shaun Nathanson and Dave Higgins on 99 points.

Runners-up were Emmanuel Godongwane, AB Sidumo, Koko and Godfrey Zithumane.
In third place were Doug Groves, Jacques and Charl Cilliers and ‘Casper’ on 92 points.
The previous Wednesday’s comp was won by Graham Dickson on 37 points, by one from Van Zyl Greyling and Tony van Niekerk.
Saturday’s alliance (two to count with all to count on par fives) saw first place going to Moosa Moosa, Peppy Govender, Dr Ayoob Bux and Altaaf Bux on 108 points.
Runners-up were Abel Yeeranna, Yugs Naidoo, Navs Moodley and Santhos Baskali on 95 points, followed on 93 points by Phil Myburgh, Johann du Plessis, Ashoo Singh and Rishen Goberdan.
