Not only will she compete, but she’ll also guide local women in the sport, helping them get into the water and ultimately onto a wakeskate.
Other international names coming include Andrew Roehm and Cole Kraiss, plus Port Edward locals in Matti Buys and Kaylib Louw.
There’s a twist this year, with the introduction of junior divisions.
The Grom Factory programme started at the Umtamvuna River Lodge last year has seen huge growth in wakeboarding and wakeskating, as well as an impressive development in the level of riding from these youngsters.

One example is that of Creston College’s Kiera Booker who, in the past seven months of wakeskating has shown immense growth.
After competing in his first competition in Johannesburg earlier on in the month he will return home to ride in front of friends and family in the junior division.
There will be other entertainment during the day for the whole family. The event starts at 9am and will run throughout the day until the start of pro finals at 5pm.
Entry is R30 for adults and R20 for children at the gate.
