Bar profits soar with rising temps

The heat last week Saturday didn't put off the local players.

THE Umtentweni Tennis Club’s bar must have seen some extra cash from refreshments last Saturday as players pushed on in sweltering conditions.

By mid-day the temperatures had reached a high of 36°C, matched by a fierce humidity of 62 percent.

The club would like to wish a warm welcome to our newest member, Almarie de Jägger.

As one comes in, sadly, one must go out. The club is about to suffer the loss of one of its more formidable players when Matthew Holmes relocates to Durban at the end of February.

Members wish him and Jenine de Meyer all the best in their new adventures and look forward to having them back on court, during their Saturday visits.

Happy hitting.
