Open singles reaches next stage at Scottburgh BC
There's been a lot going at the club of late.
THE Open Singles is well under way at Scottburgh Bowling Club with some terrific games having taken place. The next round will continue this coming week. Good luck, everyone.
The Mixed 2-4-2 was played yet again in beautiful weather. The second session was won by Bob Elliot and Mardi Dovale (AMBC) on 2+14; runners-up were Beryl Whitehouse and Manie van Copenhagen (Scottburgh) on 4+16 and the winners on 4+23 were Mike Robertson and Hilary Holmes (Scottburgh). Well done to the winners and a big thank you to our sponsors Enzo, Atlanta Spur and Nino’s.

Please come along and support a worthy charity at social bowls which will be held on Sunday, June 25, 8.30am for 9am. It is open to bowlers and non-bowlers.
The morning is a fund-raiser for autism. The entry fee is R20 and we would like to fill all three greens – therefore 96 players. There will also be boerewors rolls on sale afterwards. There is a list up at the club or phone Peter at 082-5588412.
After experiencing a fun game of bowls on Sunday, June 25, we shall hopefully get a few new bowlers coming on a Wednesday morning. This morning at Scottburgh Bowling Club is dedicated to new bowlers.
Just arrive at 8.30am; we will lend you bowls and give you the necessary basics before you start. Wear flat shoes and bring a hat.
If you work, you will be most welcome on a Sunday morning, also at 8.30am. Phone Lyn at 082-8787170.
A thank you to all our members and to the Rotary Club for all the donations of clothing and blankets. These have gone to our staff, who, between them, have had to take in 12 orphans due to Aids. The staff were so emotional when they saw the number of items that had been donated. Thanks again to everyone.
