JEAN Corfe and Jeanne Powell won the women’s section of the Southbroom Conservancy golf day at Southbroom Golf Club last Saturday.
It was quite a day, with some R46 000 believed to have been raised.

They carded 43 points and in the process counted out Irene Schanda and Margie Sherratt.
In third place on 41 points were Jean Cole and Sandy Fitzgerald, with Della Kempthorne and Sharon Turnbull-Jackson on 40 points, along with Lee Mutch and Sandy Luus, as well as Candida Amm and Trish Amm.
The men’s section was won on 47 points by John Whitnal and Errol Amm, two ahead of Simon Shusha and Cyprian Xolo.
Kyle and Brad Flanagan were next on 44 points, counting out Jim Cook and Gerald Fitzgerald.
In fifth were Rob Meydell and Chris Miller, counting out Geoff Skelton and Brian Brasher, as well as Rolf Gudegast and Matt Smith.
The previous Wednesday’s competition was won by Lorraine Cook and Joy Crutchfield on 48 points, counting out Sandy Luus and Rene Matthew.
In third were Allyson Thomas and Lee Mutch on 47 points.
Brian Brasher and Paul Lawson took first place in the men’s section on 48 points, pipping Chris Miller and Olliver Ransome, as well as Gerald Fitzgerald and Errol Amm.
