Ever-ready runners take on races
The club reminds the public of the upcoming Keep Scottburgh Beautiful Trail Run and Family Fundraising Day this Sunday (6th).
There has been some action-packed events for Scottburgh Athletic Club members recently.
Athletes participated in the Hollywood Bets Race in Durban last Sunday, where runners had a fast, flat and scenic route.
There were two race distances, the popular 10km and 5km.

Results are as follows:
10km: Njabulo Arthur Ngcobo 00:50:55, Carl Calverley 00:56:53, Dana Daniels 01:00:15, Kirsty Moriarty 00:52:53, Sizwe Nkosi 00:55:59, Jennifer Parsons 01:06:51, Morgane Petit 00:59:58, Lissett Pinillo Perez 00:58:36, Liphelele Shazi 01:09:41, Lucky Zama 00:51:59 and Lungelo Zama 00:43:50.
5km: Zibuyile Langa 00:38:39, Viyonne Longmore 00:50:56 and Thembelihle Mbhele 00:58:15.
During the previous weekend, the club’s trail runners attempted the Karkloof Trail Run in extreme weather conditions.
The 100 milers set off last Friday at 20:00, and by 01:00 on Saturday, a decision was made to cancel the event due to the harsh weather. Some athletes couldn’t even get to the start!

The club reminds the public of the upcoming Keep Scottburgh Beautiful Trail Run and Family Fundraising Day this Sunday (6th).
This event will be from 08:00 to 13:00, and the day will kick off at Scottburgh Mall with a 6km or 12km trail run.
There are great prizes up for grabs, and there will be a mini market and kids’ corner on the day.
