Gamalakhe Arsenal wins soccer tournament
In second place, Sunshine FC won R10 000 while Seven Stars walked away with R5 000.
Gamalakhe Arsenal was crowned winner of the inaugural Makhulukhulu Protection Tournament.
The tournament, held at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre in mid December last year, saw football teams from Gamalakhe battle it out for R30 000 in prizes.
After a 1-0 win against the Sunshine Football Club (FC), Gamalakhe Arsenal won R15 000 and soccer jerseys.
In second place, Sunshine FC won R10 000 while Seven Stars walked away with R5 000.

According to the organisers, the tournament provided local football teams with a platform to showcase their talent and passion for the sport, drawing large crowds and generating excitement within the community.
They said they hoped that the event would inspire young players to pursue their football dreams, which could lead to more opportunities for growth and development in sports across Gamalakhe.
Gamalakhe Arsenal is grateful to Makhulukhulu Protection for making the tournament possible.
“It is great to see the community rallying behind local sports. This is just the beginning; we hope such events will continue to grow and bring more opportunities for our youth,” said the organisers.
