Slow greens prove tricky for Eagles

The next game is on March 4.

Scottburgh Golf Club was the venue for this month’s Village Eagles golf game.

The greens were slow and proved tricky to read, however, the long rough contributed to a high lost ball count, well done to Janet Boyd for her estimate of 73.

Best Lady was Michelle van der Merwe on 37 individual points, and Derek Hodge took the men’s prize on 42 points.

Best Lady Michelle van der Merwe and Best Man Derek Hodge.

The winners on the day were Ian Baird, Alan Munn, Phillip Bacchus and John Calitz on an alliance score of 90 points.

The longest day and collecting the Stones Trophy was Jeremy Boyd, Jimmy Wilson, Sarie Hall and Janet Boyd on 72 points.

The results were calculated by Stan Sim and Alistair Eyres.

Eddie Mathews presented the results, and this went without a hitch. On the fines side, Derek Hodge was the master, and this was, once again, well-supported.

The next game will be held at Umdoni Park on March 4. See you all there.

The longest day: Janet Boyd, Jeremy Boyd, Sarie Hall and Jimmy Wilson, with Bob Hall joining in.
