KINGFISHER
The 2026 KBA men’s and women’s fours finals, played at AMBC last week, brought together some of the region’s finest bowlers for a wonderful day of competitive lawn bowls.
In the women’s competition, it was the Banners Rest team of Pam Cole-Cook, Jessica Henderson, Leoni Booth and Amelia Pieterse who claimed the gold medal with an outstanding performance.
Silver went to Liesje de Rosner, Sandy O’Donaghue, Linda Upfold and Helen Turk of AMBC.
Bronze medals were shared between Julie Walker, Noleen Morris, Ann Taylor and Lynne Faure of Southbroom, and AMBC’s Hilary Holmes, Annetjie Kidd, Estelle Collier and Maureen Moffet.
The men’s competition saw Widenham’s Hugh Martin, Des Hean, Dave Neave and Tommy Binks take top honours.
Riverside’s Shane Nienaber, Timothy Woolley, André Maulgue and Dillon Schoeman earned silver.
Bronze medals were shared between Ron Weddell, Mike Thompson, Dave Northhard and Mike Eley (sub) of Riverside, and The Bell’s Keiron Dacey, Howard Gibbons, Barry Krause and Steve O’Moore.

SOUTHBROOM
Walking on Water went further ahead after round two of the Hibiscus Brokers SuperTrips which took place at five bowling clubs last Thursday.
Playing in the top section at Margate, the trio of Tony Waters and Cleve and Julie Walker were narrow runners-up on the day but extended their lead to three points.
The 11-round competition comprises 60 teams which play on a strength versus strength basis; every member of the team plays six ends each as skip, second and lead.
Winners at each venue this month were:
Margate: The Wizards – André Maulgue, Dillon Schoeman and Peter Budde.
Riverside: Riverside Boys – Peter Griffiths, Gerhard Waldeck and Clinton Edmonds.
Southbroom: The Voyagers – Tiens Zietsman, Kobie Ritchie and Bertha Lane.
Munster: The BeeGees – Glenn Hatfield, Eileen Burt and Bruce Millar.
Banner’s Rest Trihards – Elliot Nqoko, Noleen Norris and Dean Norris

TWENI
The Oribi Plaza Wimpy ladies’ pairs was won by Lindi Samuels and Hettie Nel.
Runners-up were Tammy Gibbons and Rienie Blignaut.
Session went to Charmaine van der Westhuizen and Alida Munnik.
The Harbourview Superspar mixed pairs was won by Mariki Bothma and Mike Dukes from Dick and Jing Eltringham.
Session went to Mark Kassner and Jenny Robertson.

PORT EDWARD
Winners of the Desire’s Casa Villa Pro 10s competition were Anne Wells, Derek Wicks and Bruce Lund.
Runners-up were Sergio Ruperto, Pat Ruperto and Hazel Delaney.
In third place were Mark Barnes, Katy Babich and Darren Babich.
Pulling off a perfect 10 were Graeme Russell, Pat Brand-Lyle and Rob Lyle.
