There’s always a buzz at Southbroom Golf Club when the International Shootout is played and this year was no different.
Golfers came from, or are originally from, countries including Switzerland, Sweden, Scotland, England, Netherlands, Austria, Germany, France, Ireland, South Africa and Swaziland. After two days of exciting golf, Free Naar was crowned winners on 88 points. The team consisted of Heinz Freivogel, Prisca Freivogel, Gavin Wagenaar and Nick Dreyer.
Runners-up was Fish & Chips, made up of locals Bruce Matthew, Detlef Wichmann, Geoff Skelton and Gavin Sole. Third place went to the Explosive Dutchmen in Jack van den Eijkel, Leny van Duijn, Des Pillay and Vash Pillay.
Fourth spot was secured by Team Sweden, namely Christer Solgevik, Precious Solgevik, Werner Duggan and Thami Cyprian Xolo.
In fifth place came Pot Pourri, namely Louise Leal, Thierry Rambeau, Stephan Egbert and Ruth Egbert.
While there was some quality golf on the course, there was also a great vibe in the clubhouse, led by The Mild Boys, who claim to have toned things down from their Wild Boys days.
Their team this year comprised Vic Burger, Ian Middleton, Devlin Player and Michael Vincent Anthony.
