Daniel Francesconi and Liesl Smith remain in the running to complete the triple crown in the annual Cuatro tennis tournament.
Semi-final action has (just about) come and gone in the Ugu Tennis Association event, with some some thrilling games, played in great spirit, taking place.
The finals will be played this weekend and more exciting matches are anticipated.
Daniel will defend his singles’ crown against the rapidly improving Hriday Kambaran, while Liesl will face Zelda Smook.
In men’s doubles, Daniel teams up with his father Stef, who is playing some superb tennis at the moment, and they will aim to overcome the power hitting duo of Bjorn Wikstrom and Brendan Els.
Daniel will be in action in the mixed final with Deanne Purtell-Massyn in what should be a great battle against Liesl and stylish newcomer Mick Taute.
Women’s doubles see Liesl share the court with Natasha Cotterell against Sharon van der Schyff and Cheryse Wikstrom in a final that’s too close to call.
The mixed plate still has the semi-finals to be played, with the quarter-finals having taken place last weekend.
