SUPERTRIPS
Round 8 of the Hibiscus Brokers SuperTrips delivered new leaders in the form of The BeeGees -Glenn Hatfield, Eileen Burt and Bruce Millar – after their win at Riverside BC on August 20.
With three rounds to go, they lead Walking on Water (Cleve and Julie Walker and Tony Waters) by a slender five points.
The competition involves 60 teams of three who play at five venues every month.
The format matches strength with strength. Each team member plays lead, second and skip for six ends.
August winners were as follows:
Riverside – The BeeGees (Glenn Hatfield, Eileen Burt and Bruce Millar).
Margate – Paradise (Wikus van Vollenstee, Chris Faber and Vernon Clements).
Southbroom – Stone the Crows (Shaun Crow, Dup van Staden and Sean Ross).
Munster – Ignite (Mario Waldhausen, Jeanne Fensham and Dale Riddle).
Banners Rest – The Dunnies (Barbara Jackson, Pauline Dunlop and Graham Dunlop).
RIVERSIDE
Winners of the recent Tiago's competition were Avril Cannon, Barbara Jackson and Sashkia Murch.
Among the all-ladies team is the Competition Secretary, Paul Mundell.
Runners-up were Pat Maulgue, Nickey Riddle and Fawzia Karani.
Second session went to Kerry and Mari Fielden and Bertha Lane.
MARGATE
The Ken Tonge-sponsored ladies' trips on August 21 were won by Maureen Muller, Ren Smuts and Winnie Hess.
Runners-up were Moira Faure, Denny Watson and Wanda Kitching.
Second session winners were Dora Vosloo, Trixi Smith and Elsa Lourens.
Lucky draw was won by Trixi Smith.
SOUTHBROOM
Winning the JL Panelbeaters’ men’s fours at Southbroom on August 21 were Peter Griffiths, Clinton Edmond, Dillon Schoeman and Dale Riddle.
Runners-up were Brian Douthwaite, Donnovan Mulder, Adriaan Wessels and Mel Glover.
In third place were Chris Green, Henk van Buuren, Kokkie van Buuren and Bruce Lund.
TWENI
The Harbourview Superspar mixed pairs on August 24 was won by Richard and Kitty Cochman.
Runners-up were Jim Vaughan and Glenda Snyman.
Session prize went to Kevin Mullen and Monica Middlewick.
