Ebola proves to be a hot topic
Women learnt more on the deadly virus that is killing thousands of people.
STONECROFT Ministries had its first monthly tea for this year at the Port Shepstone Country Club last Friday.
A very informative talk on the Ebola virus was given by Kelvin Hulley. He said that a person with a cold could merely cough and thereby spread the infection, or pass it on just shaking hands with another person.
“It is advisable to wash your hands before working with or eating food, as dirty hands will also allow viruses or bacteria to spread. Bacterial diseases can be cured with antibiotics but diseases caused by viruses can’t be cured,” said Mr Hulley.
“You have to rely on your immune system to fight it off or get a vaccination to prevent yourself from suffering the effects of a virus.”

Beautiful flute music was performed by Diane Evans with an outstanding rendition of ‘You raised me up’.
Physiotherapist Sharon Dobbin gave a talk on her occupation. She said she sometimes found herself in challenging situations and realised that without Jesus in her life, she would not have succeeded.
‘Be healthy and cool’ will be the theme of Stonecroft Ministries’ next monthly meeting on February 20.
Women are invited to enjoy the morning and receive some health tips from Curves of Shelly Beach.
Margaret Rex will be the main speaker and music will be provided by Naomi Skorpen. Entry fee is R30 per person and bookings can be done with Maria at 039 6812801.
