Fireworks season starts

Are South Coasters not tired of the annual spat?

IT is that time of the year, the start of the fireworks season – the adopted Guy Fawkes, Diwali and New Year.

And with it comes the same hardy annual – the arguments for and against the use of fireworks.

The SPCA says pyrotechnics are a pet’s worst nightmare.

But surely we need to be tolerant of a small group of people who light fireworks in celebration.

Are South Coasters not tired of the constant spat?

Pet owners need to manage their animals.

And those who light fireworks need to also show respect.

Loud bangs being ignited at whim days before and after the celebration will not be tolerated.

Instead of empty threats over the use of illegal fireworks we need proper law enforcement.
