Water woes

Water is not an infinite resource and the wastage from leaking pipes is cause for concern.

MOST consumers know that the present water crisis has come about because of the severe drought that is gripping the country.

However, water woes on the South Coast have come about because the maintenance and upgrading of pipes has been inadequate.

The Ugu District Municipality appears to have thought that the water supply was inexhaustible, requiring no forward planning or effort to sustain it.

Water is not an infinite resource and the wastage from leaking pipes is cause for concern.

Some of those in charge of the supply clearly lack knowledge and understanding of the scientific conservation of water.
