Athletic club celebrates Reconciliation Day with run
People who are health conscious are urged to join the club by logging on in their Facebook page: XJ Athletic Club.
Runners from Emaxesibeni Athletic Club XJ hosted a 16km and 12km fun run recently.
About 20 runners participated in this fun run, which was initiated by runners to remind people where they come from.
Bonga Mvumvu, who plays an active role in the publicity component of the club, said they were ecstatic to be joined by their friends from KwaBhaca Athletic Club.
“We also do this run in preparation for next year’s Comrade Marathon as this club, we will be represented by an entourage of 40 runners. We know this is the most critical time of the year, where most gym fanatics relapse due to end of year festivities, but as a club, we advise runners to stick to their exercise plan,” said Mvumvu.
The run ended with aerobics, and Mvumvu appealed to people who are health conscious to join the club by logging on to their Facebook page, XJ Athletic Club, for more information where they can access joining forms and permanent licences as approved by the Athletic Club of South Africa.
