Sweet surprise: Doonside’s Bobbi Bear gets candy floss machine

A sweet donation reached the doorstep of Doonside non-governmental organisation, Operation Bobbi Bear, in the form of a candy floss machine.

A LITTLE sweetness goes a long way as Doonside NGO Operation Bobbi Bear received a candy floss machine on June 26, much to the delight of children living in the home.

The NGO serves as a human rights organisation, with its main concern being to help sexually abused children in the Amanzimtoti area. Bobbi Bear rescues children and offers them a home and safe space. Currently, it cares for over a dozen children.

“This is a first for us. The children are extremely excited, especially with it being school holidays now. I really want to say thank you so much to Vox for this lovely gift. We are going to be making lots and lots of candy floss in the coming weeks,” said Eureka Olivier of Bobbi Bear.

Vox’s Mariska Hirst said she is sure the candy floss will bring joy, smiles and many happy memories to the children in Bobbi Bear’s care. She added that she hopes it can create opportunities for fundraising and community engagement that will help support the incredible work of the NGO.

“We are honored to contribute in a small way to an organisation that makes such a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children . We wish them every success and look forward to seeing the happiness this machine will bring. Seeing children smile is one of life’s greatest rewards. We hope this candy floss machine adds a little sweetness to their lives. Vox wholeheartedly supports the wonderful work that Bobbi Bear does for our community,” said Hirst.
