WTTF has partnered with the school for the fundraiser, which is sponsored by Macsteel as the platinum partner. At the school, founder Dale van Blerk unveiled a vibrant poster, caps and tickets for the 5km fundraiser walk, which will take place at the Amanzimtoti Community Hall on November 28. In addition, alongside the project partners, a ribbon cutting was done to officially declare the sale of tickets.

“This exciting family and community event aims to raise funds towards the construction of a much-needed school assembly hall for the learners of Isipingo Hills Primary School. For many years, the school’s learners have been forced to stand outdoors during assemblies, often in the scorching sun or heavy rain. The school also does not have a suitable venue to host examinations, concerts, prize-giving ceremonies, cultural events, parent meetings, and many other important school activities,” said Van Blerk.

He explained that the new assembly hall will provide a safe, weather-proof, multi-purpose facility that will benefit the more than 1000 learners, and those that school after them for generations to come.

Dale van Blerk, Thenjiwe Madlala and Shaun Nieuwenhuis discuss how the assembly hall is going to come together.

The space envisioned will allow learners to write examinations, celebrate school achievements and participate in educational, sporting and cultural activities throughout the year.

“WTTF would like to express its sincere appreciation to Macsteel, whose commitment as the platinum partner is helping to make this project possible. Their investment in education and community development demonstrates the important role that corporate South Africa can play in creating lasting change,” said Van Blerk.

The NPO urgently needs more corporations, companies and businesses to join the mammoth project.

“We encourage companies to use this event as a team-building and corporate social investment (CSI) opportunity. By purchasing corporate ticket packages and participating in the 5km walk as a team, businesses can strengthen employee relationships while making a real and lasting difference in the lives of more than 1000 learners,” said Van Blerk.

The fundraising event invites families, community members, schools, churches and organisations to come together and make a lasting difference.

“This is far more than a 5km walk. It is an opportunity for the entire community to come together and invest in the future of our children,” said Van Blerk.

The event promises a fun-filled morning for all ages, with entertainment, food vendors, community spirit, and the opportunity to be part of a project that will positively impact the lives of thousands of learners for generations.
