African Union head shares her wisdom with matrics
THE chairman of the African Union, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma paid a fleeting visit to her old school, Adams College in Adams Mission on Thursday, 8 August.

“What you do here is very important. I take great pride in Adams College. It nurtured and really made me the person who I am to some extent,” said Zuma in a short address to teachers.
At a gathering of matric pupils in the school hall, Zuma told them the ‘sky is the limit’. “I am happy to be here, it makes me feel young. I spent three years at the school living in the hostel and it taught me a few things, other than academics – discipline and hard work.”
She was proud the school had maintained its legacy, as it celebrates its 160th anniversary this year. She encouraged pupils to take school seriously.”You need to focus, pass matric, continue studying and the rest will follow. Education has a window, it is limited, use it constructively, but enjoy life responsibly.” She told pupils, young people had a vital role to play in the future of Africa as a continent.
