Facebook proposal lands love-struck suitor in hot water
A love-struck suitor has popped the question over social media.

Barry Ward (56), who lived in Warner Beach, but now resides in Pinetown, asked his girlfriend, Warner Beach hairdresser Tania Girling (43) to marry him on Facebook on Thursday, 22 August.
“It wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment thing,” said Barry. “We have been talking about marriage for a while now. We both want to get married. I don’t go onto Facebook much. I thought the icon on the side was a private message.”
Unknown to Barry his broadcast went public and it wasn’t long before 'all hell broke loose’. “I quickly got slapped across the knuckles and told I hadn’t got away with it (the proposal). I now have to plan a whole romantic proposal on my knees. If I don’t do it right, I will lose points.”
Barry met Tania when he relocated to Pinetown from Cape Town. “I grew up in Warner Beach and was friendly with Tania’s sister and family. When I was working in Winklespruit one day I popped into her salon and we went out for supper that night.
We are kindled spirits and she’s absolutely lovely. I’m over the moon she said yes.”
