RWFL raises just under R10,000 for Faron-Mae

Jan and Lizette Botha would like to thank everyone that contributed to our project (Faron May).

AFTER all the hype of the previous few weeks at Run Walk For Life (RWFL) Toti, it was back to normal this weekend as members decided to support neighbouring club, Queensburgh Harriers at their annual race, the Queensburgh Mineshaft 15km.

All the members did well, with Lizette Botha the first woman home and Danie Slabbert the first RWFL Toti man home. Well done to them, and to novice Francesca Shacklady on completing her first road race.

Jan and Lizette Botha thank everyone who contributed to the Faron-Mae project. Without the support of the public, family and friends as well as businesses, the total of R9,600 in pledges and sponsorships could not have been secured. Pledges can still be made towards costs incurred as Faron Mae battles Glycogen Storage Disease (GSD) type 0 (aglycogenosis). All donations are highly appreciated. Call Debbie Ellish on 084-402-5800 or Paula (Faron’s mom) on 082-304-8195.

RWFL has a few important dates approaching. The annual get-together where members spend time together with friends and family will be a picnic/braai at Umbogavango Nature Reserve adjacent to the industrial complex on 23 November. More details will be supplied shortly. In addition, athletes will gear up for the annual Christmas run at Westville AC. Both events promise to be fun.
