Probus’ growth calls for new party venue

Membership has increased to the point where our hall has become too small for the annual Christmas lunch should it rain on the day.

THE next Probus Amanzimtoti social club monthly meeting takes place on Friday, 25 October at 9.20am for 10am in the safe, beautiful and tranquil Umbogavango Nature Reserve.

Members and visitors are to take their own cups, meat, salads, and refreshments for the bring-and-braai after the meeting.

Membership has increased to the point where the hall has become too small for the annual Christmas lunch, should it rain on the day. The committee has therefore decided it will be prudent to move to a larger venue, so this year’s Christmas lunch will be held at the Amanzimtoti Country Golf Club in Athlone Park on Friday, 29 November at 11.30am for noon.

There will be a three course meal including two desserts at a cost of R80 per person, which includes the cost of covering the tables and chairs and venue hire.

Members who want to attend the Christmas lunch must pay for tickets at the October meeting. Members who are unable to be at the meeting must contact Sharon-Ann as soon as possible to reserve their places and may pay for their tickets on the day of the lunch.

This month Prubus is pleased to welcome the president and members of the Probus Scottburgh Club, who will be raiding Toti club for the first time in more than two years.

The Probus Club of Amanzimtoti is a social club for retired or semi-retired persons over 50 and membership is open to singles or couples who enjoy socialising with their peers. Interested visitors can call Sharon-Ann on 083-312-5360 by 24 October, as in order to gain entrance to the nature reserve the gate security will first check your name against their security list.
