Caravan park children treated to party

Solidarity Helping Hand’s Durban North branch and the Dutch Reformed Church South Coast treated about 100 children from the Ocean Call Caravan Park in Winklespruit to a Christmas party on Saturday, 30 November.

“The children received snacks and gifts at the Christmas party,” said Martin Prinsloo, a church member. “A company in Pinetown provides the children’s gifts every year.”

He said they also take this opportunity to tell the children about the true reason for celebrating Christmas. Helping Hand follows a policy of upliftment through education in order to combat poverty. The organisation also realises the alleviation of poverty, especially among children during the festive season, plays an important role in combating spiritual poverty.
