Jabulani grateful to giving community

JABULANI Home for the Aged residents were treated to a delicious Christmas lunch at the home in Warner Beach on Friday, 6 December.

“Locals have been so generous to us. Our Christmas lunch has been paid for by clients of Giselle's Kitchen in Toti. Giselle has always been generous to us, giving us great prices and far more food than paid for. Last year she wanted to cater for free and we had to insist on giving her a 'gift',” said Jabulani's Beth Duncan.

Giselle once again came to the party this Christmas. “She made little angels and anyone who paid for a Christmas lunch for a gran or grandad got an angel for free. Thanks to our local community we paid nothing for the food. The gentlemen who was to have provided the entertainment had to pull out, but the Freemasons stepped in and an entertainer came through from Umkomaas with his keyboard.”

According to Beth, the community has been very generous. “Residents enjoyed a Christmas carols evening hosted by Amanzimtoti Lodge members on Wednesday, 11 December. The Masons have done this for three years, they bring a pianist, lay on snacks and give us a generous donation.”

Jabulani thanks the Freemasons and Lions who have also been most generous to the home throughout the year in one way or another.

“Thanks to Moringa Conference Centre, Remax Estates and a few other donations, our deck is being renovated. Due to people from all walks of life, our water tanks are being replaced early in the new year. We live in an amazing community. People open their hearts and purses, when they see a genuine need.”
