Dinner fund sets all-time record in donations

Over R18,000 was raised in this year's Animal Christmas Dinner Fund.

The fund was started at the end of October and all donations go towards buying food for homeless and destitute animals housed by Toti SPCA over the festive season.

This last batch of donations received over Christmas and New Year include R500 from anonymous, R250 from Mike and Heather, R160 from the Botha, Smith, Nicolson and Newsom family, R100 from Michelle Hannan ‘in memory of Bailey’ and R100 from Dianne and Danny in Scotland.

“The total of R18,583.50 is an all time record. Grateful thanks to all those who donated. Due to the donations, no matter how big or small, many animals could be fed and sheltered over the festive season,” said fund co-ordinator, Marlene Prinsloo.

“This is awesome, the community really helped us a lot,” said Toti SPCA manager, Tracey Girling. “This is a good start to the new year.”
