Collapsed fence needs attention
This was reported to the railway service but no action has yet been made to remove the collapsed concrete fence.
EDITOR – At one time there was a competition arranged by the Illovo Nursery for people who improved the appearance of the road verge in front of their residence.
The residents of the block of flats called Sunsands, at 22 Beach Road in Doonside, spent a lot of time and effort improving the appearance of the verge on the Doonside railway station-side of Beach Road and were awarded first prize for the area on three occasions.
Six weeks ago the fence on the railway side of the road opposite Sunsands was blown over, which flattened the plants on the verge that had won the prize for the area.
This was reported to the railway service but no action has yet been made to remove the collapsed concrete fence and restore the bank to a prize-winning condition.
The adjacent photos of the collapsed fence were taken on Wednesday, 8 January.
I have written this in the hope that you will be able to suggest how we can get the railways or municipal departments to do something about it.
