Drug dealer arrested in Isipingo

MEMBERS of the Chatsworth Cluster Crime Intelligence and Durban K9 Unit arrested a 44 year-old man for dealing in drugs in Isipingo on Tuesday, 21 January.

“Crime intelligence members had been following up on information of a drug dealer who was operating in Isipingo. He was located and an intelligence-driven operation was conducted. When he was searched, he was found in possession of 30 mandrax tablets with a street value of more than R2,000,” said Capt Thulani Zwane of the KZN police media centre.

He appeared in Durban Magistrate’s Court on 22 January.

KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner, Lt Gen Mmamonnye Ngobeni commended the members for the recovery of drugs and the arrest. “The commitment of KZN police to reduce the drug trade will continue to make the country safe for the community,” she said.
