Eggs find new nests at homes – new VIDEO
Toti schools have been tasked to perform a random act of kindness for the latest rounds of Toti RakNominations.
The initiative was started by Sapphire Coast Toti Tourism chairman, Jacques van Schalkwyk, who changed a social networking game involving downing an alcoholic beverage while being filmed, into one of kindness. The video of the kindness act is then loaded onto YouTube and the link is posted onto Facebook.
Jacques nominated the South Coast Sun, which paid for the sponsorship of an adoption kennel at Toti SPCA for three months.
It in turn nominated ward 97 councillor, Andre Beetge and Toti High School. Dressed in a tuxedo and bowtie in 33 degree heat, Cllr Beetge visited Mooi Hawens and the frail care centre, Huis Lena in Winklespruit, where he handed out 10 dozen pink, red and white carnations to every female resident and staff member as part of Valentine’s Day.
Toti High School sent out a plea to its pupils on Friday, 21 February to donate Easter eggs. “Our pupils donated hundreds and hundreds of Easter eggs, which we gave to pupils and residents at the Palm Tree Care Centre, Mother of Peace, Jona Vaughn, Jabulani Home for the Aged and Mooihawens,” said principal, Louise Lemmer. “Thank you to the Sun for nominating us and thank you to all our pupils who donated Easter eggs.”
Toti High School then nominated Amanzimtoti Primary School and Warner Beach Prep to do a random act of kindness.
Cllr Beetge nominated Kingsway High School and Kuswag Skool. Their acts will be reported in next week’s edition of the Sun.
