Rotary launches health drive in Lower Illovo

THE Rotary clubs of Amanzimtoti and Clairwood have partnered to host Rotary Family Health Days from Wednesday, 2 to Friday 7 April.

“As we want to serve a larger portion of the community, we have selected the Sakithemba Halfway House complex in Lower Illovo as the site for the health days. We have also approached Winklespruit primary health care clinic to assist us,” said Mike Lesar of Toti Rotary.

Services offered on the days will be blood sugar testing, high blood pressure testing, HIV/Aids counselling and testing, BMI and nutrition, immunisation of infants and children. There are plans to also provide sight testing, feminine cancer detections and TB education and awareness, screening and testing.

“Sakithemba was vandalised in the past year and both Rotary clubs are going to work together to restore it.”
