Setting the record straight about ice rink mishap

EDITOR – I would like to set the record straight in regard to the young girl who fell and broke her leg on March 7.
I was also at the scene of the incident and was the first person to assist.
Galleria’s ice rink manager Dennis Boshoff, Deryn De Bruyn and myself got her into a wheelchair and off of the ice, from then on I alone supported her leg and calmed her down as she was screaming in pain. The paramedics arrived and administered strong pain medication via an intravenous drip.
Netcare paramedics treated both the elderly man and the girl and she was transferred to to Prince Mshiyeni for further treatment by Netcare 911. Galleria security and Netcare 911 can confirm this.
Deryn De Bruin had a minor role in this whole scenario and he certainly did not take Miss Phillips or the elderly man who was with his family, to hospital.
