Sweet success for newly resumed diabetic testing

Eighty four people tested their sugar levels at clinic.

ON Saturday, 31 May Kingsburgh Lions Club assisted by Toti Lion, Pat Dalziel, successfully resumed its free diabetic testing service at Pick n Pay Arbour Crossing.

“We were delighted with the response.

Within two hours, some 84 members of the public acknowledging the importance of testing their sugar levels, bravely stepped forward for a finger prick. Where necessary, some people were advised to consult their doctor, but the majority went away happy in the knowledge that their sugar levels were normal. We deem it a great privilege to be able to offer a service such as this to the public. Although our testing service is offered free of charge, many people gave a donation, for which we are grateful, as their contribution will go towards replenishing our testing equipment,” said president, Lion Pat Wilson.

The club advises the public that for June only, its diabetic testing will take place on Friday, 27 June at Pick n Pay Arbour Crossing from 9am to 11am and not on Saturday, 28 June. Thereafter, for the foreseeable future, testing will take place on the last Saturday of each month, and the venue and time will remain the same.
