A 14-year-old teen girl and a woman in her 20s are fighting for their lives after being hit by a vehicle in the northbound lane of the N2 highway a day before Women’s Day.
According to Netcare 911 media liasion, Chris Botha, the two women were attempting to cross the highway opposite the old airport near Isipingo at about 8am on Friday, 8 August when they were hit by a vehicle in the middle lane.
“Both women had poly-trauma injuries – multiple injuries to their bodies,” he said. “Their injuries were horrific.” The women were stablised before being transported to Prince Mshiyeni Hospital.
