Hearse driver shot, abducted

A man with a gunshot to the left leg was found in a cemetery at Adam's Mission.

A case of hijacking, attempted murder and kidnapping was opened at Isipingo police station after a man was shot and wounded on Monday, 8 September at about 1pm.

According to police, an abandoned hearse was found on the southbound on-ramp to the N2 at Isipingo/Prospecton with the keys still inside and a bullet hole in the driver’s door.

While inspecting the scene, Isipingo police heard a man with a gunshot to the left leg had been found in a cemetery at Adam’s Mission.

“He was dropped off in the KwaMakhutha area where he was found. The vehicle was later recovered near Amanzimtoti. No arrests have been made at this stage,” said Captain Zwane of the SAPS KZN media centre.
