Police jail cells brim after 133 arrests

Twenty eight people were arrested for shoplifting.

AMANZIMTOTI SAPS recorded 133 successful arrests between 2 and 28 September.
Five people were arrested for assault with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm; three for common assault and 28 for shoplifting.

One person was arrested for robbery, two for theft of motor vehicle; 18 for general theft and three for malicious injury to property.
Three were nabbed of possession of whoonga and 19 for dagga. One person was arrested for contravening a protection order; three for dealing in liquor; five for breach of peace and 14 for drinking in public.

One arrest was made for business housebreaking, six for residential housebreaking; one for using a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and one for culpable homicide.

Three people were arrested for drunk driving and four warrants of arrests were issued for drunk driving. A warrant of arrest was also issued for contravening a peace order. One arrest was made for fraud, two for possession of dangerous weapons and eight for traffic-related offences.
