Burglary victim urged to open case

CCPO urge the owner of the items recovered earlier in the day to come forward so that a stronger case can be brought against the man who stole them.

THE CCPO urges a Warner Beach home-owner who had their petrol brush cutter and high pressure cleaner stolen on Tuesday, 24 February, to lay a charge at the police station.

CCPO Jason Hewitt and his crew stopped a man walking on the N2 at Warner Beach, and questioned him about the cleaner and brush cutter that he had in his possession.

When they took him to the police station, he was released due to the lack of any reported case that matched the missing items. However, the items have been retained by the police.

The same afternoon, the same CCPO patrol found the man again, carrying more items.

When taken into custody, he revealed he had stolen the items from a Madelaine Road home in Warner Beach. The home-owner has opened a case, and the man is being held in custody. However, the CCPO urge the owner of the items recovered earlier in the day to come forward so that a stronger case can be brought against the man.
