Kingsburgh Lions hands over grocery donation to Mother of Peace

Thanks to its monthly food drives, Kingsburgh Lions Club was able to make a grocery donation to non-profit organisation, Mother of Peace.

IT WAS through the generosity of shoppers in Amanzimtoti that the Kingsburgh Lions Club were able to hand over a grocery donation to non-profit orphanage, Mother of Peace, during the club’s August business meeting.

Kingsburgh Lions president Esmé Nel explained that essential food items were collected thanks to the kindness of local shoppers during the Lions’ monthly food drive earlier this month.

“We are grateful to our community for their continued support as we help the children at the Mother of Peace orphanage in Illovo,” said Nel.

Accepting the donation on behalf of the orphanage, Enoc Makanda highlighted how vital these ongoing contributions are for the home.

“In today’s economic climate it is increasingly difficult to provide for the 60 children we have with us at Mother of Peace and we are very grateful and thankful for Kingsburgh Lions’ continued and regular support; this makes a great deal of difference,” said Makanda.
