TWO separate armed robberies took place several hours apart on Saturday, 30 May.
In the first incident on the corner of Longacres Drive and the R197 in Doon Heights, a pedestrian was set-upon four men at about 4pm.
“The man was walking along the road when four men approached him, one pointed a gun and a second held a knife against his stomach. They searched his pockets and took his wallet containing R400 and his watch,” said Toti SAPS communications officer, Capt Charlene van der Spuy.
The robbers fled on foot.
The second, unrelated incident occurred in Legend Road, Lovu Township at about 12pm.
“A woman was informed by friends of her son that he had been stabbed and robbed. She found him with a stab wound to the stomach and took him to hospital,” said Van der Spuy.
The robbers took a cellphone, speakers and a handbag, before fleeing on foot.
