Grenade murder man back in court

He remains in custody at Westville Prison.

FORMER airforce colonel and ex-MK veteran, Joel Mbuso Mahoase who allegedly threw a hand grenade at his wife Lesego who later died of her injuries made another appearance in the Durban Regional Court on Thursday, 15 October.

“The case has referred back for further investigation. Mahoase remains in custody in Westville prison. He will re-appear in the Durban High Court on Monday, 30 November,” said Toti SAPS communications officer, Capt Charlene van der Spuy.

Lesego was killed in the couple’s Karridale Road, Shulton Park home on Sunday, 30 August.
After the incident, Mahoase went on the run, but handed himself to police on Wednesday, 2 September. He subsequently appeared in court for a bail application which was denied.
