Well-loved car guard bids farewell to Toti

Alta and her younger sister Maureen have been stalwarts at the Winklespruit shopping centre for many years

REGULAR shoppers at Kingsburgh Centre will miss the smiling face of well-known and loved car guard Alta Pretorius (49) when she moves to Ellisras in Limpopo province this week.

Alta has lived in Toti for 28 years and worked at the centre for 14 years.

“I will miss all my customers and my old people,” she said sadly.

Alta and her younger sister Maureen have been stalwarts at the Winklespruit shopping centre for many years and she said her regulars were not happy to hear she is leaving, as much as she doesn’t want to leave the Toti area.

“I’m going to look after my son Gerald and we will be living on a farm far away from anything,” she said miserably. “I really don’t want to go. There are such wonderful people here in Toti and I’m going to miss my fishing.”
