Unsung heroes help home through tough times

This has been one of the most challenging years.

The Jona Vaughan Home Parents Association thanks the local community for the support they have given to the home recently.

Jona Vaughan Home is a project of Durban and Coastal Mental Health.

The home caters for 84 children and adults with profound intellectual disabilities.

“Our holistic care includes 24 hours accommodation in a safe and secure environment, provision of nutritional meals and medical management,” said Jona Vaughan Home manager, Fiona Anderson.

“Residents also enjoy fun and therapy through our creative stimulation programme.

This has been one of the most challenging years in view of the escalating cost and the high care needs of our residents.

Courage, sheer determination and the overwhelming support from our ‘unsung heroes’ in the Amanzimtoti community, local churches, schools and business houses have been invaluable in making a positive impact in the lives of our residents.

Your ongoing support and commitment to our centre is deeply appreciated – thank you.”

The Toti public is encouraged to continue to support Jona Vaughan Home. For more information on how to support, call Fiona on 031-903-2111.
