Court finds 26-year-old man guilty of raping his stepdaughter (13) at her mother's homestead

Nsimbini Magistrates Court convicted and sentenced a 36-year-old stepfather on 17 November to 15 years’ imprisonment for the rape of his stepdaughter.

On 5 December 2015, a 13-year-old victim was raped by her stepfather at her mother’s homestead at Nsimbini area, Folweni.

A case of rape was opened at Folweni police station and the docket was transferred to Folweni Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit for further investigation. This led to the arrest of the accused on 11 February, and several court appearances followed before he was convicted and sentenced.

We will continue removing all those cruel people in the community who abuse and rape our future leaders,” he said.
