Four-day workshop needs community comment on Toti’s needs

Facilitated by the city’s community participation unit, the workshop aims to introduce residents to the municipal integrated development plan

Residents and interest groups in ward 97 are urged to attend a four-day community based planning workshop scheduled for the weekends of 18 and 19 as well as 25 and 26 March from 8.30am to 4pm in the Scout hall in Drake Road, Amanzimtoti.

The four-day workshop, facilitated by the city’s community participation unit, will aim to introduce residents to the municipal integrated development plan (IDP).

In addition, interactions will include recommendations and prioritisation of community needs for inclusion into the IDP.

While individual residents are invited to attend, representatives of community based organisations for example sports bodies, religious groups, environmental groups, cultural societies, welfare organisations, gender based groups, the safety and security sector, organised business, civic groups and so on, are urged to participate in an effort to obtain a holistic indication of the community’s expectations.

Participation is free of charge. For more details, call Cllr Andre Beetge on 082-718-8137 or email andreb@skytec.co.za
