Salt of the earth and the life of the party.
That’s how Charlie Rose (87), who died on Saturday, 16 September was described at his memorial at Jabulani on Wednesday, 20 September.
The late Jabulani resident was born in Durban on 29 September 1929.
Many will remember him walking shirtless down to Warner Beach in the mornings to go chat to the fishermen on the beach.
“He was a good sportsman and loved the bush and fishing,” said his son Dave. “When he was young, his parents used to battle to get him to come home, as he was always in the rivers and bush. He loved it best when he was on the beach with a fishing rod in his hands.”
